Gordondämmerung

(Great credit and much kudos to John H (twitter) for the title, which is his wonderful description of current events.) Harking back to events in my natal year, is the current dissolution of the Labour party going to be the longest suicide in history?

Aw, shucks...

"Events in my natal year" - now you're making me feel old. I was ten years old in 1983 - and a fervent Thatcherite! :-)

A ten year-old Thatcherite? Such things should never be! ;-)

I was an old revolutionary socialist, with wage caps and nationalised industries and all. Good thing we all grow up, eh?

I know, I know. I then swung to the left at about 15/16, stayed there until I was about 30, and have been meandering around the place ever since then...

As for primary-school Thatcherites, you may recall the comment by our 8-year old - clearly a closet Schmumpeterian - which I posted on FB the other week, about how it was a good thing that Woolies had gone bust, as it meant there would be more shops available for other people to try setting up a business. :-)

Um, think I put too many "m"s into "Schumpeterian" back there, but am too exhausted to try and unpick it......

Ah, Schumpeter, Schmumpeter.
